What is the difference string quartet and a string trio?

A string quartet consists of 2 violins, viola and cello whereas a string trio consists of 1 violin, viola and cello.

Some of our string trios always work as a trio while others are string quartets who offer a trio option - you may find that some of these trios offer a less diverse repertoire than they do for their quartet.

The sound is very similar, just slightly less full and 25% quieter.

Geoff, thank you for ensuring everything ran smoothly. The venue commented on how professional they thought you were in contacting them to arrange PAT testing for the guitarist's equipment. We will definitely recommend both your agency and the guitarist to our friends. Thank you ...
