Classical Wedding Ceremony Music Suggestions
Ideas to help you select your entrance music

We often get asked by couples for help to choose the right music for the wedding ceremony, and what songs work best. Here are some suggestions based on popular choices. If you don’t know these pieces of music, YouTube is a great source inspiration and you can specify whether you search for a song played by a string quartet, harpist or any other instrument!
When you book one of our performers, we will always put you in direct contact so you can discuss and plan this directly with the act.
There are 3 key moments in the proceedings when wedding ceremony music is used:
1. The Bridal Entrance
2. The Signing of the Register
3. The Recessional (couple’s exit)
As well as choosing specific wedding ceremony music we always suggest that our musicians arrive early enough to be play as guests arrive. This is usually for 20-30 minutes as guests take their seats in the church or civil ceremony room and wil set the tone you want to create as everyone arrives.
Having wedding ceremony music before the ceremony starts is also a great way of calming the groom’s nerves as he waits for his bride to arrive, and for creating a calming and enjoyable atmosphere as guestst take their seats!
The Bridal Entrance music is of course, the music that is played when the bride walks down the aisle.
The Signing of the Register can take 5-10 minutes as it is also an opportunoty for the photographer to capture the moment, so this is a good time to choose a piece of music that will last this duration.
The Recessional is the opportunity for an upbeat short piece of music that can be heard while everyone is cheering and clapping as the newly married couple leave the ceremony!
