The Devon Wedding Harpist - Harpist
This performer is an accomplished harpist based in Devon who is available for weddings and functions as well as concert performances. He has given many concerts in Britain and abroad as a soloist and also with his brother Marc who plays the violin.
His music has been widely praised by audiences and the press and he performs either on the larger Concert harp or Celtic harp.
He moved from Holland to Northern Ireland to work as a kindergarten teacher and while he was there that he felt encouraged to start re-learning the harp again again; the Irish tunes, the melodies of Turlough O'Carolan (the Irish blind harpist and composer) and the passion people felt for their music, inspired me.
He moved from Northern Ireland to Devon, bringing the Irish tunes with him and once he'd given up his teaching job, the harp became his full-time occupation.
He taught son the harp who is currently studying at the Guildhall School of Music in London. He won several music competitions and became second in the 2013 Young Musician of the Year Competition in London and is a proud dad!
