Andrew Peterson - Classical Guitarist

This classical guitarist first began studying under Selina Madely before accepting a place at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama where he was given the opportunity to further his studies under Allan Neave and Phillip Thorne (MBE). His passion and aptitude for the guitar was acknowledged when he became the first guitarist to win his regional Young Musician of the Year competition with a performance of the Adagio from Rodrigo’s Concierto de Aranjuez in 2005.

During the time he studied at the RSAMD he formed the Glasgow Guitar Quartet with fellow musicians from the Academy, who made their concert debut at Glasgow’s Big Guitar Weekend, and followed up with performances at the Houses of Parliament and the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama.

He is a versatile guitarist who works with a range of different musicians including a flautist, violinist and singer.
