Stars of Munster - Irish Ceilidh Band

The band formed in 2006 by friends who had played together for several years in various musical combinations. Featuring a mixture of guitar, bass, fiddle, whistle, mandolin, piano and sometimes drums, the band has a core membership and some very talented side musicians.

For a ceilidh, they provide a knowledgeable and inspiring caller, the key to a good evening’s dancing.

They perform Celtic songs and tunes in styles ranging from a delicate melody to a storming sound, with excellent singers and trained top line players. They are the ideal band to play in a variety of settings: dance hall, garden, living room and ballroom.

Stars of Munster - Irish Ceilidh Band Feedback

The band was really amazing and the highlight of our wedding evening celebrations on the 24th June! All of our guests loved the dancing, fun and friendly atmosphere the band created. Many thanks to the caller for helping us navigate the more complicated dances and Ruth for liasing with us prior to the wedding!

Richard Bradley, Swallows Oast, (July 2023)

The band were absolutely fantastic! Loads of energy and character that got everyone dancing from the first song to the last. They had a great repertoire of songs and even gave us an encore. Cannot recommend them highly enough.

Peter Hoile, Saffron Walden, 30th Birthday Party (January 2022)

If you’re looking for some fun and upbeat Irish Music then look no further. They performed a fantastic set for us on the beach and it was everything and more that we had imagined. Despite playing early on in the wedding day within no time people were up and dancing and having a brilliant time. Booking and communication was super easy and Ruth was more than happy to have a call with us the week before which was a lovely introduction. Hope to see you play again soon.

Hugh Saffrey, Whitstable, (September, 2021)

Thank you so much for playing at our wedding celebration on Saturday evening. Our guests loved it and we had a great time. The band really were perfect for our event and got quite a few of the known non-dancers on their feet. The band were brilliant at our event. Communication beforehand was excellent. They were very accommodating as we were running late! The music was great and all our guests thoroughly enjoyed it. They even got some of the “non dancers” dancing! Would highly recommend and would definitely book again!!”

Thank you guys all so much for yesterday. Your music was fantastic you judged it all perfectly! Also, your caller was great at trying to keep us all in order (or as much as possible!).

Lucy Coleman, Burstall, Ipswich, Wedding (August, 2021)

We spent a long time looking for the perfect ceilidh band for our wedding – everyone kept telling us ‘you have to make sure you get one with a good caller!’ Choosing this band for the Big Day is one of the best decisions we made – not only did we get that good caller, who had everyone up on their feet and having a whale of a time, but the band also added in musical sections at either end of the set, which brought a real folk feel to our room in Central London! They can’t come highly recommended enough. Not only are they astonishingly good musicians, they’re wonderful people to liaise with, and make the admin side of things a joy. Hope we can dance to your tune again soon

Will Dady, Whitehall, London, Wedding (July, 2021)

Just to say how much we enjoyed your music at our wedding. I saw people dancing who I never expected to see on the dance floor. It was great! The whole day was great and we will treasure the memories. You played your part superbly even if our 9 year old grandson was hugely embarrassed by our attempts at dancing. It really made our and we had nothing but hugely positive comments from everyone there.

We asked Stars of Munster to come and play at Keble College Oxford at very short notice (less than a week!). As we had a busy conference schedule, there were some last minute changes to the schedule and the band were more than accommodating - arriving promptly with no need for extra kit. The band went down a storm - providing perfect, on point ceilidh music which had had the delegates up and moving in seconds (literally)! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend these guys for a ceilidh gig - prompt, friendly, efficient, helpful and they know what they are doing. Thank you guys for a fantastic gig - people are still talking about how much fun it was.

Matt Matheson, AIN World Conference Organiser, (August, 2016)

We had such and amazing time on Saturday and wanted to convey our thanks for your wonderful playing at our wedding. All of our guests had a great time whether they danced or just listened to you play and we couldn't have asked for a better band to create the wondeful atmosphere for the evening. We will definitely be recommending you and we hope you all had a great evening too. Thanks again.
